Ivory Sparrow Weddings: Adrienne and Morod

We love weddings and we love our Ivory Sparrow brides! If you and your girls have worn our wraps, robes or flip flops, send us your wedding photos. We’ll feature them in all their lovely, unique glory (and make sure to include a couple snapshots of you donning your special Ivory Sparrow frocks)! Please email them to elizabeth@ivorysparrow.com.

Adrienne and Morod’s gorgeous trip down the aisle took place July 7 in sunny San Diego. Complete with pops of magenta and a mariachi band, the couple and their wedding party made for a stunning group and actually added to the beauty of Bahia Resort, their venue (something we didn’t think was possible!). Congratulations Adrienne and Morod!

A Bridesmaid Garden Party: Part Two

We are pleased as punch to share with you Part Two of our Bridesmaid Garden Party Inspiration Shoot. We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier group of girls to model the perfect bridesmaid gift, Ivory Sparrow’s Sweet Bridal Body Wraps, and hope they had as much fun spending time in our soft, cozy wraps as we did taking photos of them frolicking in the garden.

Thank you again to Kimberly Hernandez Photography for participating in our first ever inspiration shoot and congratulations to Carla (above) who will be walking down the aisle August 11th!

A Bridesmaid Garden Party: Part One

We are thrilled to share with you the first of many inspiration shoots from Ivory Sparrow. Shot on a gloriously warm Saturday at a private residence in Escondido, Kim of Kimberly Hernandez Photography was the skilled eye behind the lens; she was such a joy to collaborate with and we cannot recommend her enough for any future wedding, baby or maternity shoots. Our beautiful models were none other than an actual bride and her bridesmaids. Carla (our future Mrs.) is getting married on August 11, so keep an eye out for photos from her big day after she says “I do” to her fiancé, Austin.

This is the first in a two part series. Stay tuned for part two next week!

Jessica and Derek were married on a beautiful San Diego Saturday in April. Their ceremony at University of San Diego’s Immaculata Chapel and reception at the Museum of Art’s Sculpture Garden were beautifully designed and much of the credit goes to the vision of the bride (who happens to be in the events industry herself!). Congratulations Jessica and Derek!

Also, enjoy this little video teaser from their videographer… We swoon every time.

Ines and Manny were married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. With purple being one of the bride’s favorite colors and the New York Yankee’s being the groom’s favorite baseball team, the touches were personal to both their loves and interests with a feel of frivolity and fun present throughout the day. Congratulations Manny and Ines!

A Little Birdy Told Us

We had decided to go ahead with our wrap, tote and flip flop business idea, but needed a name. It’s all in a name, it’s all ABOUT the name, isn’t it?

A flurry of emailing back and and forth began. We wanted something that embodied the bride experience, but not overtly. We wanted something sweet, something precious, something that could help for some creative branding (if we’re being honest). We wanted something that was truly, wholeheartedly “us.”

Eventually we started playing around with color… then birds…. and eventually we got to Ivory Sparrow. What says wedding more than a shade of white, and though it’s a tad unusual to associate sparrows with amour, why should they be ignored as love birds?

A week later, we had our first business meeting over coffee. Waiting for our lattes to arrive, we started talking branding, whether or not we were sold on the name “Ivory Sparrow,” when lo and behold the following was set down before us.

ivory sparrow coffeeWe fell silent. For us, it was a sign that we had found the name for this venture. For the barista, it was a sign that she had mad skills in her foam crafting abilities.

Either way, we officially had a name for the path and journey we were about to embark on and it was Ivory Sparrow.
